There were already posted by mongodisco a year ago, in the same post as the movie.

The subs are in .idx format, they don´t work with VLC player.

huh... i play them here on my vlc

In any case, install vobsub-filter to be sure, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Normally just choose video-tab and then the option "subtitles". Under this you should be able to choose the english subs.

The format cannot be detected. That´s the message I get trying to play the .idx file. Is it possible to convert it in another format, e. g. .sub or .srt?

You play the movie, and drag the idx file onto the video window.

You can use SubRip to convert the idx+sub pair subtitles to srt format.

In addition the subs don´t play, "can´t recognize format" for .sub file.

Put both the idx and sub files in the same folder as the movie file and give them the same name (except for the extension, of course).

eg.
Valo.avi
Valo.idx
Valo.sub

Now open Valo.avi. VLC, MPC etc. will pick up the subtitles automatically.

They all ARE already in the same folder. And when I want to open the .sub file e.g. in Jubler subtitle editor or Subtitle Workshop then nothing happens or I get the previously mentioned message. What is the source of this .sub file?
