I thought THIS title had been released a couple years ago... I'VE had this DVD that long...

(I'm sort of like ARTHORIUS in that I've got a fairly decent DVD collection, and can make DVD VOB files like they are going out of style, but I can't get them to AVI files to save my life. I have AutoGK but it's just not as simple as it's made out to be [trust me, I NEED 'simple'...]: Getting the DVD's to VOB files; THAT's simple... Anyway...)

It's very cute Brazilian 'Family' feature and little Taina runs around 'native' virtually the whole movie [OT ]. Though pitched to America I think THAT fact kept it from being picked up and widely distributed here.

'Taina 2' is ALREADY out and on the ed2k network, I'll post that one above. It's the further adventures of a now 'Teen' Taina with a cute little sidekick, Catiti.

Also be on the lookout for a possible 'Taina 3' supposedly in the works...

PM'ed, got some help [THANKS, and my deepest GRATITUDE goes to ghost!], and with a little struggling, I've popped out a NEW baby!! And HEY!! The 'Widescreen' WORKED this time!!

The one drawback is that the film is in Portuguese with no English subs. It was filmed in the jungles of Brazil.

Synopsis:

The story itself – poachers stealing endangered species from the Amazon, and little Taina foiling their efforts – wasn't earth shattering, but the film was fascinating for several reasons. The setting and cinematography were stunning. The animals were profoundly beautiful and expressive. Eight year old Eunice Baia's performance was a model of restraint, in marked contrast to nearly every other character in the film. I think kids must naturally like `animated' characters, whether in real life, live action or animated films -- certainly the kids in the audience liked these villains. TAINA was refreshing, beautiful, and fun. I met several of the filmmakers and Taina herself. As you can imagine, filming for over 100 days on the Amazon where it rains every single day with a crew exceeding 100 had its share of challenges. Eunice Baia grew up on the Amazon, and apparently until she got involved with Taina, had never been to a movie theater in her life. Highly recommended.

Geeze, yeah I've had it on 'Release' since I posted it.

I'm pretty much running emule 24/7 right now; only cutting it off for a short time to do something here or there with another upload program. I DID notice when I brought it back up a few mins ago that it said:

"Warning DonkeyServer No1 - Your 4662 port is not reachable. Please review your network config."

Dunno if that might have something to do with it being such a slow share.

AnywayI haven't had any luck in getting the 'Behind-the-scenes' short that I was trying to rip, but for what they are worth, I got the trailer and a music video, and a longer clip with the music vid AND 25 mins of clips put together that have some 'Behind-the-scenes' stuff, and a news interview with Eunice and her young male co-star, but all in Portuguese:

First of all, a big thank you for the Taina and Taina 2 releases!!!!
I've been able to download Taina 2 pretty quickly, without problems...

But, does anyone have finished downloading Taina (1) yet?
I've been trying to download it for almost 3 weeks now, and I'm only 75% finished...
(My eMule is open 24/24, 7/7 for the last month, the file has been set to release in my shared folder in the first days...). Does anyone know how to download this one faster? Just curious...
