This looked so familiar, I was sure it was already posted. Apparently it wasn't, but I found the DVD that I must have bought some 15 years ago (time flies). The movie won a bunch of awards, including the best German feature film of 2001. IIRC, it wasn't very interesting visually, though. The actress of interest was born on April 24, 1980, so I'm afraid this is off-topic.
In any case thanks for doing great work finding the movies.
