Re: [REL] La Bouche de Jean-Pierre (1996)
I asked mainly because the video quality, though larger, looked just about as grainy as the 720p so unless there was more to it than the main film, downloading a large .iso like this one might be more than most people want to do. We all appreciate how much you're doing for FLM.

The 720p version appears to be a dvdrip with the contrast dialed up a bit. The .vob has slightly better detail but you really have to compare identical frames closely in order to see any difference. The re-encoding was well done. So if bandwidth is an issue it may not be worth the trouble to download a full DVD-9. Users will have to decide that for themselves.Phuzzy4242 wrote:I asked mainly because the video quality, though larger, looked just about as grainy as the 720p so unless there was more to it than the main film, downloading a large .iso like this one might be more than most people want to do. I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to picture quality. In case other members haven't figured that out already.

This film just deserved to get upscaled to Full HD:

The larger Deadman's version doesn't appear to have great picture quality. Actually the extras are more clear than the main movie. Better to have shorter file sizes with decent picture quality. I must figure out e-mule.
Re: [REL] La Bouche de Jean-Pierre (1996)
Well, deadman's file is an uncompressed DVD, so of course the file is large - it is the full size of a DVD. Since it is PAL it is 576i or 576p, while ghost's compressed file (1.56Gb) is 1080p, so it SHOULD indeed look quite a bit better -- it comes from a higher resolution source. The advantage of deadman's full-DVD shares is that they have the full DVD quality, which can be ruined by overcompression. When I see the old 750mb dvdrips I am not impressed. Pixelization, man.
If someone was mad enough to share an uncompressed 1080p Blu-ray it could easily be 30-40Gb. We rarely do that because few people have the bandwidth to handle it, or the storage space. Yet. In 10 years we will probably be downloading 350Gb DCPs in the space of a few minutes.

YES! YES!! YES!!! If you are able to get it to work, you will NOT regret it!Terrysherry wrote:I must figure out e-mule.

This film looks great! Thanks ghost for the lovely share. Can't wait to hear what Jean-Pierre's bouche has to say.

A 720p TVrip exists but I doubt it’s needed with ghosts upscale ?
