"L'histoire de 'L'Année de mes sept ans'
A l'automne 1952, sur fond d'une France en quête d'oubli, Hélène, 7 ans, et son frère Michel, 9 ans, sont brusquement séparés de leurs parents. En instance de divorce, ils les confient à leurs grands-parents maternels, qui vivent à Lille. Entre une grand-mère un peu autoritaire et plutôt rigide, qui semble de plus lui préférer son frère, et un grand-père taciturne, obsédé par la guerre et le génocide nazi, Hélène tente de s'adapter à sa nouvelle existence. Son identité juive lui est révélée en même temps que les récits des atrocités nazies distillées par son grand-père et son frère.

"Synopsis of 'The Year of My Seven Years'
With the autumn 1952, on bottom of France in search of lapse of memory, Helene, 7 years, and her brother Michel, 9 years, are abruptly separated from their parents. In authority of divorce, they entrust them to their maternal grandparents, who live in Lille. Between a little authoritative and rather rigid grandmother, who seems moreover to prefer her brother, and a silent grandfather, obsessed by the war and the génocide of the Nazi's; Helene tries to adapt to her new existence. Their Jewish identity is revealed to her at the same time as the accounts of the atrocities Nazis distilled by her grandfather and her brother.
