Summary:
Le Chambon: La Colline aux mille enfants is the true story of a small village in France that resisted the Nazis and provided refuge to 5,000 Jewish children during World War II. The leader of the resistance was Pastor Andre Trocme. As Trocme put the Le Chambon pledge, "The duty of all Christians is to resist the violence that will be brought to bear upon their conscience through the weapons of the spirit. We will resist whenever our adversaries demand obedience contrary to the order of the Gospel. We will do so without fear, but also without pride and without hate."
