[REL] The Children's Story (1982) USA [30 Min Short]

I read this novella when it first came out back in '81 and always wanted to make a film of it. Looks like the author, James Clavelle beat me to it!

This film was actually produced in 1982, just a year after initial publication. It's a didactic little piece on RE-educating children to formulate beliefs that follow certain ideologies that are different from what they've been taught before.

While a very short and simple story, it touches on many important concepts, such as freedom, religion, patriotism, etc. It is similar in nature to George Orwell's 1984 in its treatment of propaganda, control, and inter-generational warfare.

You might even recognize one of the little girls: Toni Ann Gisondi [ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0321119/ ]; she played little 'Molly' it the 1982 film version of 'Annie'!! (Her character is 'Toni' in this film..)

Hopefully this will eventually come out in one piece, on DVD. (WithOUT Peter Ustinov's intro and outro..)
