I have all my eMule uploads backed up across multiple external hard drives (I have been filling drives up quickly the past year) but as a result of this I now also have them all backed up in one folder on one drive, just in case. I don't mind the time taken to rehash them, but if something seriously goes wrong and the video files themselves are wiped out, I would hate to have to hunt them all down one by one.
I checked out the eMule-Project link you gave and yup, sure enough, I have been getting error messages about eMule being unable to save ALL the .met files, and that is because the entire folder (and contents) disappeared. I have no idea how I could have done that. I was indeed cleaning up my system lately, but I stayed out of the eMule Program Files.
When I reach the point of the reinstall, I will INDEED take your advice and back up that damn CONFIG folder. Thank you very much!
