In Oranje (2004)

In Oranje is a movie meant for the entire family. And I believe the makers succeeded.

The movie is about Remco, a young talented football-player who wants to play in the Dutch National Team U14. But when his father (his biggest fan and biggest support) dies - his life turns around. You see Remco as he struggles to make his and his fathers dream come true.

I really liked this movie. I'm a football-fan myself, but like All Stars (1997) - a film directed by the father (Jean) of the main character in this movie (Yannick van de Velde) - you don't have to be a football-addict to like this movie. It's fun, very touching and well-acted by the main-characters. It's a bit about football, a bit about following your dreams no matter what, a bit about family and a bit about the loss of a dear one.

In my opinion: A must see movie for almost all Dutch people from 8 to 80 years old! It's one of the best Dutch movies from the last few years if you would ask me!

sorry Jb, only just saw this post, i'm from the UK

I'd really like to visit Amsterdam again though it's a really cool city, nice food, bars and people (even the guys offering drugs on the street are courteous)... looking forward to going back there sometime

Several dvdrips are out there. I am not sure how much time the girl has but she is very cute. It might be mostly a boy movie?
