Synopsis:
Winky and her family have moved to the Netherlands to open up a Chinese resturant. She works to hold onto her dreams as she learns to adapt to an new culture.

There is only one thing Winky wants: a horse, a real horse to ride. But horses are expensive. Fortunately it is the season of Sinterklaas; Winky just asks a horse for Sinterklaas. Can everything will work out allright.

Anyone who knows, or would like to know about the dutch tradition of Sinterklaas, should simply see this movie. Meet Winkie Wong, originally from China gets confronted with the upcoming event of Sinterklaas coming to town. Tradition allows children, if they have been good throughout the year, to ask Sinterklaas whatever they would like to get. This makes Winkie hope and think beyond her expectations. Right from the beginning it becomes obvious Winkie would not settle for less then asking for a horse.

And because of the 'weirdness' of this dutch tradition, it makes this movie so cute and a must see for anyone, with or without kids.

From GIFFONI film festival Belgium/Holland production i've put this in Belgium hope is right.

Plot: Life is cruel for little 6yo Winky. She has been forced to leave her native China for the mysterious and distressing world of a place named Holland. But she gradually adapts and finds solace by becoming attached to Sara, an old pony. Of course her parents would never allow her to have a horse but at school she learns that an old man with a white beard called Santa Claus brings presents to all the good children in Holland. She just has to ask him.
