Adjusting settings on windows Media Player

Post by rmt@36 »   0 likes

Hi All

I was wondering if someone knows how to adjusting the picture on WMP 11

All the pictures are dark, and when the movie is dark it is like the picture is completely black.

I have tried adjusting the settings but they automatically go back to the default settings.

All I want to do is lighten the picture so I can see the movies I download.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

First of all, WMP is a pain and a resource hog. :P

That said, the settings are here:

Right click the toolbar>View>Enhancements>Video Settings.

If you want to see the menu bar, move your mouse to just above the top of the video, right click and select 'show classic menus'.

Hi emuler

I have tried doing this but my settings will not change, they automatically fall back to the default position.

What I am hoping that there is a trick to get them to change and stay changed instead of the default position.

Which for me is to dark a picture.

Thanks

I'm confused. Do the settings refuse to change at all or do they change for the duration of that clip and get reset for the next clip?

They refuse to adjust at all. I can move them but they automatically move back to the default position.

So I can't even get them to do it for an individual movie or clip.

Try pausing the video, then adjust. It might not be able to change settings on the fly.

WMP11 was designed for Vista; there are still a lot of issues. I'm assuming you are running on XP SP2. If not, try installing DirectX 9.0c.
