As this film opens it is 1939, and war seems to be only a distant possibility to a group of vacationing young Polish Lithuanians who are seen greeting their Lithuanian Catholic and Jewish neighbors respectfully. In particular, Witek, a young man hoping to pass his final exams so as to begin university study, is having a bit of a lark, attempting to woo a lovely fellow student, and braving a shotgun blast from her protective father. He and his fellows are full of foolhardy and pompous talk about war and death. Meanwhile, Polish troops are mobilizing to fight the Germans, and the impending storm of war overshadows everything. One of the most idyllic scenes of young love ever committed to film (in the opinion of one reviewer) graces this film, and the story closes just as the war is beginning in earnest.

When I saw no sources and a big file I searched for an alternative. It's an .ogm but vlc can play it and can confirm it's the right movie. Enough sources that I am at 30% after 4 hours. A TVRip, quality isn't as good as the pics above (but I assume those were from a website not screencaps).

14 years old? Methinks not. 15 is way more likely. We don't know for sure. We do know she was 16 years and 9 days old at the premiere on 24 november 1986, given her birthdate of 15 november 1970.
While that does make it certain that filming took place befóre her 16th birthday, since even in Europe and with 'small' movies, post production takes months, it doesn't say anything about that happening before her 15th.

It hasn't been confirmed So, before her 15th? Unlikely. Unless there is a minor "El sueño de Tánger (1991) with Maribel Verdú"-situation going on (six-ish years between principal photography and release... see RFF), she wasn't 14.

Aha, that's what you think! Anyways, here are three subtitle files. First one is English without commercial bullcrap, 2nd with that, both have non-ANSI stuff in them, presumably cos of Polish alphabet stuff??? AFAIK, it's Unix-based ANSI, or some sorta UTF thingee.

3rd one is very limited Polish, like 30 lines.

After I've compressed this to 540p, I'll try to release and upload the film to our CheckCheckCheck friends too....
