Having been institutionalized for most of his life, Jack (Andrew Garfield) is finally released from prison at the age of 24.
He and another boy murdered a child when they themselves were children. The film follows Jack's attempts to readjust
to the world outside of confinement and restart a life which never really got going.

Skye Bennett has a small role (couple of minutes). Inasmuch as she is the girl child brutally murdered (off-screen, of course ) this
could be considered on-topic, but you decide. The rest is about the fate of the surviving co-accused (the other committed suicide some years ago).
A very good movie about whether ex-cons should be allowed back into society or hounded to their graves.

No particular OT scenes.
Childhood moments are just flashbacks of two schoolboys getting up to no good!

The one scene that did interest me was that of a young schoolgirl (in uniform).
In that scene the two boys are spying on her being taken advantage of by an older lad in a field (shown at a distance).The schoolgirl eventually comes across the two boys and one of the boys attacks her with a knife before dragging her underneath a bridge.

Sadly what ever happens to her next is shown off camera, but I like to think that the boys got to spend some quality time with her before finishing her off!..

For those interested in this movie, the scenes shown are very short and basically to lay down the ground rules of the movie.

This seems to be based loosely on the James Bolger? story from England many years ago.

Two boys commit an indecent act, are jailed, separately, and upon coming of age released under assumed identities.

It seems to me to investigate the liely happenings should anyone ever find out their "true" identities.

It is a great movie, but has some overtones which may upset some.
