First off, let me throw in my thanks to all who brought this movie to FLM; auswombat and Phuzzy!! Not a fave low-budget of mine, but I'm glad to have seen it..

Unfortunately one of those 'bait and switch' type films.. THIS poster is a bit more apropos:

I love 'low-budget-weird' and this movie had a LOT of that, unfortunately the acting tanked it for me. The main character Coco, played by

Colter Carlbom-Mann, really bit the big one.

He just couldn't handle [imo] the contrast of innocence and evil intensity that his role required. Then the actress who played his mentor, Shelley Starrett, though she played her part well enough, also had a second role at the end as a lab tech and that really threw me off. Her damn fingernails!!!

(An odd fact about this film is that it seems to be a RE-MAKE of another full-length movie called '

Young Coconut' that was completed in 2016 with a very similar plot line and the EXACT SAME main 4 cast members but a DIFFERENT director who wrote, produced and directed the film.. (It must have been insufferable as I can't imagine Colter being a BETTER actor 3 years ago..)

Strange..

The scenes where Coco is in the interrogation room remind me of the movie

Prodigy (2017). Another independent, low-budget film in a similar vein that worked better for me as the actress involved,

Savannah Liles, handled her role with a bit more finesse.

All in all Ballet Blanc is well worth a watch, ESPECIALLY if you're into low-budget, so-bad-it-might-be-good independent films.
