There's no iso, i ripped the LaserDisc like this, this is the original file. LaserDisc is analog, it was ripped straight to MPEG.

Sounds interesting!

I have 512 MB completed so far.

But it's so well-known movie, I would have thought there was an uncut DVD or at least a digital TV rip that did not cut off Brooke's ass :think

Me too. There's a reason I bought this almost-impossible to found Laserdisc. Thank god I already had a LD player...

Thank you anyone who is downloading. Please understand the BIG file size. I wanted this to be ultra-special. Heck, as good as I could make it. So I figured out the way to do it was just capturing the LD with a high bitrate, not doing anything at all to the picture and uploading. It's unfair that because this is a controversial movie, you have to track down 29 years old copies of it to watch it uncensored. And most people don't know this to boot. So JUST IN CASE, I figured out I had to "preserve" this. Now the whole thing is out there and no one will stop it.

That this movie is considered bad is unfair. Brooke couldn't possibly look more beautiful here. Her nude scenes are the most beautiful part of this movie (and I mean this in a non-sexual way, she looks really beautiful naked as a 12 year old, that innocent way of beautiful), even though they are the core of a serious story. I hope that someday we grow up enough as a society to stop dumbing down masterpieces like this movie to just "A movie with nude scenes by a 12 years old, child pornography."

To end, please, forgive me, but I've gotta SHOUT this to all the people who bashed and bash this movie:

NUDE BROOKE FTW!

Actually this movie wasn't censored. It can be bought anywhere in the States including Walmart in all its glory.

What the problem was, is the transfer to dvd. They took a 4:3 master and cropped it to 16:9. The film was originally shot in 16:9(widescreen) You mentioned it was analog. Laser disc to my knowledge is digital same as a dvd only difference is the ridiculously large size of the disc. I noticed looking at your screencaps this is 4:3 same as the vhs. Laser disc typically has more information than vhs so this is most likely a better transfer than what one might get from a vhs. It is still not the original widescreen unfortunately.

Thank you iduploader for your contribution. Many fans of this movie will appreciate it. :thumbsup

Hi.

I'm very much aware that this was not censored but rather cropped. The thing is, that to me, cropping this movie the way they did it, for the reasons they very well may have done it (i.e. it significantly alters controversial scenes of this movie) IS censorship since you can't officially buy the movie without such censorship.

You're right, both this and the DVD are cropped in some (but different) ways to some degree. I myself spent some time playing with screenshots of the same frame from both versions and I have to say, the original aspect ratio is probably 1.66:1 (The DVD has more picture at the sides, so it seems unlikely that they cropped the movie for the DVD just to fit a wide aspect ratio).

By the way, I will clarify something. Laserdisc is analog. The thing is, it can (and most laserdiscs did) store digital audio. But the picture, ALWAYS is analog. It's just better quality than VHS. Laserdisc has almost twice VHS' resolution. (425 vs. 240 lines) It's not tape. That means a lot when it comes to picture quality. I was kinda surprised when I noticed that there were no LDRips of this movie online. Almost as surprised when I noticed how hard was this to get.

Although this was filmed in widescreen the parts that were cropped were the edges of the film for the 4:3. Most if not all the action of interest to us is in the center. So your version has all the picture. Nothing is missing.

I was wrong about the digital video. You are correct about being analog. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laserdisc

They were much better than vhs. Better picture and smoother play back. It is good you found your copy and still have a player. Laserdisc format died here in the states back around 2000.(dvd obviously better)

It is a shame that a proper digital transfer was never made from the original film. At the fast pace that movies are transfered today I am sure in the near future we will see this come to blu-ray. 8-)

To be true, LD never got sold here at Uruguay. I got this LD player back in 2009, and so far I'm quite pleased with it's results. You'd be surprised about how many things you can see on LD that are not quite presented the same way on DVD!

And I agree with you, I hope this comes SOON to BD. It'd be great having a proper 1080p transfer that shows as much as the negative shows.

Comparison between a VHSRip of this movie against this very LDRip. Left - Laserdisc Right - VHSRip.

Keep in mind that some artifacts on the VHSRip are because of it being of a lower filesize. (1.95GB vs. 7.12GB so not completely fair comparison, but I think it still illustrates well enough the difference between VHS and LD. Look at the VHS' softness..)

Well, according to my ED2K client, all the parts are now available. Did anyone complete it?
