[REL] Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)

'Me and You and Everyone We Know' is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and "Eldercab" driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard's seven-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué Internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen-year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls -- practicing for their future of romance and marriage.

Me and you... is the type of movie that you can come in at any point and get into the characters and the plot.I saw it at the U.S.A. Film Festival in Dallas.I missed the beginning, and I heard a few people walked out because of a soft porn scene.I absolutely loved the movie, the actors were perfect for the parts, all of them. I noticed that I was actually sitting next to John Hawke, who was very a funny, honest character.(He was laughing too)Expect to laugh, laugh, and giggle,I was very impressed.Miranda J. is brilliant, she is a really talented actress, who plays a quirky struggling artist, very funny. This movie touches on things that we think, and feel everyday, but are scared to tell. The characters do a great job of making you feel and love each and every one of them.

Sounds promising. Anyone has more info? :think

I've had this for some time, never got around to watching it though I've heard good things about it. The clip I've seen revolves around the little boy who has an anonymous Internet relationship with an adult woman, and somehow she feels emotionally connected to him when he says things like "I want to poop in your butt." I never jumped on this for FLM because I didn't realize there were any girls in it, though a really quick scan shows some, don't know how big a part of it. Dont have time right now to look any closer.

Anyway, I checked the hash of the copy I have, and it's on eMule with sources.

Damn! :( These incorrect ratings defeat the very purpose for which the whole ratings system was created in the first place. Soon the ratings will be totally meaningless and there will be no frame of reference. :bigups

Well, actually I think the mainstream [well in America, at least] would find the scene where the two girls give the older brother a bj a bit 'disturbing', even though nothing was really shown.

Plus again the fact that such a young boy [what was he, 5 or 6?] was writing such explicit material to the lady.

Then there's the OCD Toaster Girl next door, something slightly sexual about her, too...

Interesting movie, but slow moving and VERY 'independent' with all it's quirky characters...
