There was another version of Escape To Witch Mountain that Disney made in the 1990s, with a slightly different story. This time, the twins grew up separate from each other and met up at an orphanage. For some reason, when they touched hands it released a glowing purple light. At the end, they traveled home not on a ship but on a beam of the same purple light. Elisabeth Moss played the twin sister in this one.
