Er.. not my comments. I just copy-pasted from imdb. ;) But yes, I liked this too, although, in the opinion of the person who made those comments - allegedly one of the cast/crew - it could have been even better.

Well ghost, a quick search on the film tells you it's a christian movie with a "message". Did you sit through the hole thing?!

The Last Sin Eater (2007)

Rated: PG-13
Runtime: 1 hr 58 mins

Synopsis:
When a mysterious man "absolves" her grandmother's sins by eating bread and wine at her grave, 10-year-old Cadi wants the same redemption -- while she's still alive! But in her quest for deliverance she uncovers a dark secret that threatens to divide her family. What will happen when the two face each other -- and the One who can truly save them? Based on the award winning novel by Francine Rivers. --© Fox Faith

See: picture of the movie poster. Synopsis quote with text that I made bold purple. And this definition:
A sin-eater is a person who consumes a ritual meal in order to spiritually take on the sins of a deceased person.
and
In wider Christian practice, Jesus of Nazareth has been interpreted as a universal archetype for sin-eaters, offering his life to atone or purify all of humanity of their sins.

What, a religious movie? Really?

But ... is the girl cute? That is the FLM standard, innit?

Some people don't like spoilers, but I DO want them, so I pretty much always read about a movie first, especially when it is right here in the thread. I also happen to know about the director, but that is cheating on my part. There is no reason he would be generally known internationally.

Yes, you both. I should have seen it from the movie cover. :(

But I really watched it 'til the end because of the girl actress.

I think a lot of us at this site watch sometimes mediocre movies for that sort of reason.

I understand. :bigups
