Well I watched this tonight & was pleasantly surprised. Dakota has certainly gone up in my estimation....she deals with a very controversial theme in a surprisingly realistic manner. I'm frustrated & annoyed it has taken so long for this to be served up to the general public. Of course, rape is horrible, in particular in the case of a child but this alone is no reason for excessive controversy or censorship bearing in mind current provisions in force to protect minors starring in such movies. I'm wondering whether this sort of occurence was more prevalent than many would care to admit........who really knows what went on in backwoods 1950's America. Do they really think though we are better left in ignorance?
This gets my recommendation AND Dakota spends a satisfactory amount of time in her underwear :drool
Thanks to quickone for being well,..............a quickone! :)

i agree dakota does a good job in this one. can't wait to see push next week at the theater.

i am willing to bet after seeing this movie that those individuals and i am guessing a very very few that brought on the controversial flame. never saw the movie! except for the actual rape the movie is very tame and even the rape is not as harsh as b of c. i hate those self righteous dictators that believe they are here on earth to save everyone one from their own self manifested demons. maybe they just need to smoke a fatty and get laid. lol

thanks quickone

So it’s pretty tame then? :(
Well I guess that saves me scanning to what could have been “the good bit".

I may just have to watch the film in its entirety instead.

So basically, do the complete opposite to what I did when the Bastard Out Of Carolina DVD landed on my doorstep.

the whole movie is filled with "good bits" i was referring "tame", as compared to the hype brought on by the groups that kept this from being shown in most theaters and not being released for so long on video. they made it sound like this movie was kiddie porn. watching this in most countries out side of the U S no one would have given any second thought other than a good movie with a cute girl. dakota did what any girl her age would do and just gave a realistic portrayal as such. shit happens to all of us including kids. letting people know only helps protect them.
enough seriousness the film is a keeper :thumbsup

plenty of ot scenes. wonder what they cut out. :)

I found that part funny when she sang off key (wonder if it was on purpose) or she can't sing. As for what they cut out I doubt will ever know it took so long for this to come out it would probably take an uncut version even longer.
