Flowers in the Attic (1987)

Turgid treatment of a shocking novel based on a true story. After the death of her husband, a mother takes her kids off to live with their grandparents in a decrepit Gothic house. However, the kids are kept hidden in the attic, visited only by their mother who becomes less and less concerned about them herself.

If you have read the book, this movie is a big let down. My wish is that some French director someday takes on the works of VC Andrews - "Web of Dreams" especially. (If you haven't read it, find it!)

Best I could find is bittorrent links to the audio books. The Casteel Series is the one with "Web of Dreams"

Never tried an audio book myself. They might be condensed versions. You could always buy the book. A used copy sells for 99 cents at Amazon.com ; under $10 for new. You could also get it at your local library. Most libraries are networked with others - if your library doesn't have it, I'm sure they can call it in. It's not that uncommon.

Sigh! I'm on the other side of the planet.
Shipping and handling charges cost more than the actual purchase - found that out the hard way when I got a DVD from Amazon.com, hence my present addiction to ed2k.
I'll check out the torrents to see if they are still alive. Fingers crossed.
btw. if I want to die laughing I could try babelfish and translate the Spanish version back into English. LOL
