TYVM, I'll give it a try. :thumbsup

I'm always annoyed about that Hollywood lie equipping pirate ships with steering wheels. Wheels as helm systems were developed in the second half of the 18th century. Even 1790, only the biggest ships, i.e. first rate ships of the line like the Victory, had one. The big American 44-gun-frigates of the "United States"-class (see USS "Constitution" in Boston) were under the first frigates to be constructed with wheels. Hollywood never realised that. :icon_rolleyes

ah yes the dramatic effect of a steering wheel on a ship? i guess it works? being one that has sailed many times. pushing a stick left or right is natural. only place the wheel belongs is in a modern speed boat or car. but it is a little boring being a stick. :think lol
