A nightclub bouncer in his fifties who's taken punches, literally and figuratively, struggles to raise his 8-year-old daughter.

Hey, T.Blondie!

Good to see you posting.

Oddly enough, I've had this film for months now and like you I haven't taken the time to watch it yet..

I've never been the biggest 'Van Damme' fan, and I think THIS film shows how his appeal has dwindled through the years. I saw a trailer for it early last year at a theater which put it on my radar. I live in a fairly big city, and I'm pretty sure between the time I saw the preview 'till today it NEVER played locally.

Anyway, I found it months ago on uloz:

Downloaded it a couple of times and deleted it without watching it.. Hence I never took time to bring it up here. :(

Despite Van Damme, I think the storyline alone makes it worthy of posting at FLM! :) So THANK YOU, very, very much for bringing this film to our attention. I'll make a better effort to finally watch this film in the coming days.

I DID just find a copy of the file on my laptop and scanning it, I came up with some pix; the girl looks cute enough, though her screen time is not as much as I would hope for:

The dialogue seems to be mostly in French which might be one reason it wasn't widely distributed in the US.. :think

Thanks again Blondie for bringing this here. :bigups

Eventually saw it. The girl does not appear often but she plays a key role in the story, so may be it still has a little space for here (but just a little). Otherwise the rest is 100% JCV pure juice: muscles, sweat, blood, guns, wild cars chases, pain and deaths. You would expect the same BS with Schwarzenegger, Stallone and other highly intellectual actors…

I remember this movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377100/ I do not know if it exists in FLM about a girl only little is seen on the screen although this type of movie would be boring if the 'hero' spends more time with the girl that would not have emotion in an action thriller

Well, Schwarzenegger was a high ranked US politician - he simply has to be "highly intellectual" ... :icon_gy

A high ranked US politician doesn't mean high IQ, it is often the opposite. I prefer guys like Noam Chomsky or Edward O. Wilson, far more interesting. De Niro is a real actor, but JCV & Co are just assholes machos. Off topic anyway ;)

Ever heard of sarcasm?
But compared to the last two republican presidents he is probably really somewhat over the average ...
I always thought this nice austrian 80es song was based on Schwarzenegger (he is also from Styria - cannot be a coincidence ...): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l563OzYvZXw

Blood, guns, wild car chases, pain and death are in damn near every U.S.-made film, even chick-flics - and for the most part are so unbelievable it's no longer even an entertaining parody. There are some exceptions - the John Wick films are excellent. They're over the top too but at least realistic - guns do run out of cartridges and the hero can be badly hurt, and Keanu Reeves can actually do those things in real life (check out YouTube and his 3-gun speed - holy sh*t!). Schwarzenegger was governor of California but he was never what anyone would call intellectual. Dumb people (usually) don't get elected to the highest offices, but judging by his private life (like boinking the maid and having to pay her hush money) I doubt he'd be classed as "highly".
