Outwardly the family Vaňušinových all goes well, life goes on, as in all other merchant houses. But deep in the core family is something wrong, was a huge gap between parents and their children and separated children and each other. An open conversation with the younger son finally forced the head of the family to see the bitter truth.

The film is made after S. Naydenov’s play. It shows collapse of a merchant's family. The head of the family turns out to be alien to his children. The insight proves to be severe: sharp contradictions, malice, antagonism and greed rule the family. Unable to find a way out of this situation, he commits suicide.

Olga Bobkova was also in [REL] Day lapu, drug! (1967) and [REQ] Rano utrom (1966)

There are no children here, the girls are maybe still underage or meant to be so but they are somehow not essential, could be that the impression is different if you speak russian but I rather doubt it - so, the movie is very probably offtopic ...
