Mystérieuse mademoiselle C., La (2002)

An eccentric woman becomes a substitute teacher for a group of "challenged" junior high students. While talking to her pet rock and playing soccer with the kids, she manages to inspire in them a desire to read and learn. Trouble is, the school's principal finds her interfering with his plans to re-landscape the school-grounds and become the minister of education in the process when our heroine decides to turn an old church into a desperately needed library for the children.

Mademoiselle C is a strange but touching woman. She, among others excentricities, talks to a small rock, Gertrude, like if she was alive. She is the supply teacher of the 6D, the worst group of St-Cécile Elementary School. When she arrives, Mademoiselle C, with her never ending imagination, will accomplish a true revolution in the elementary school and especially in the group 6D. This movie praise the right to be different and unique. It is also a movie about the happiness of reading and the power of imagination.
