Abby and Brittany Hensel are very unusual twins: they are two completely separate people from the torso up, but the lower half of their bodies are fused into one. Their story was first told at age 11 in "Joined for Life", released here:

Five years later, TLC/Discovery Channel has updated their story. The new documentary shows them turning 16 and getting their drivers licenses (yikes! considering Abby controls the right hand and leg, and Brittany controls the left.) Like most 16-year-olds they have lost a lot of the pure cuteness they had at 11, and they look somewhat ungainly from the back, but they are still pretty and it's fun to see them act like typical teens. The camera follows them from home to school to drivers ed to a vacation to Houston where they see a baseball game.

Sorry for the excessive logos, I think if the the "Discovery Heath" channel could get away with it they would make their logo and "Up Next" advertisements fullscreen and put the actual show down in the righthand corner. They intrude on the actual show so much there's no real fix for it. Still well worth watching, enjoy!

The version you saw in the UK was probably on the series "Extraordinary People". I recently came across a rip of that show on eMule.

It's a little better quality than my rip (digital vs. my analog capture, and no annoying logos.) If you saw my rip then probably no real point getting this one, they are mostly the same footage edited differently. This one shows them babysitting some kids to earn money, which I don't recall from the first one.

This one also has a medical expert who talks about their unique physiology and subtly bitches about the fact they won't allow doctors to study and experiment on them in the name of medical science. I am sure when they die doctors will be lining up to dissect them

I find these girls fascinating. It's astonishing they have lived this long and function so well. Many people have worse handicaps but noone else in the world like this. Most other conjoined twins (I still mentally think of the non-PC term "Siamese twins", habits learned young die hard) have at least some hope of being separated. These girls have none at all.
