@loverboy: What enconding program do you use? Doesn't it regognize that the movie isn't in 4:3?

If you watch it with MPC (media player classic) you can right click the video and select video frame> override aspect ratio and manually select the desired aspect ratio.

For whatever reason my DVD recorder will only record in 4:3 aspect, even when set to 16:9 unless recording to RAM. AutoGK assumes it IS 4:3 aspect & I just forgot to force 16:9.

That's strange.. It should record the original broadcasted MPEG2 stream
