Yûkai hôdô (1982)

A man kidnaps a male peer of his daughter's, both roughly nine years of age. A long cat-and-mouse game follows between the police and the perpetrator. A much more realistic and detailed film than Ransom. The kids have small yet significant roles.

Yûkai hôdô (1982)
To Trap a Kidnapper

[Image][Image]
www.fandango.com wrote:Yukai Hodo is a melodrama about a kidnapper spiriting away a young boy from his distraught, partially hysterical, tragically grieving parents and then bumbling, fumbling, and generally screwing up his designs on a ransom until everything looks pretty hopeless. The little boy even escapes being murdered by the kidnapper because he has to go to the bathroom (not the kidnapper, the little boy). The kidnapper's wife is excellently and humanely portrayed by Rumiko Koyanagi. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
Looks like it can be purchased here: http://kinozon.tv/196141
