The television version "Emanuelle the Seductress" cuts all scenes of Brindisi abusing Emanuelle, as well as scenes of Livia showering and making love with Mark. Both scenes of Mario making love to Ilona are edited, as is the scene of him attacking Livia.

In the video version released by Mark V Entertainment, a huge chunk of film is missing. It cuts from Emanuelle and Tommy's love scene directly to Mario holding Ilona's head in the bidet. The omission of this footage seems to come from print damage rather than censorship.

The film was originally released in the UK as "Emanuelle - Queen Bitch" and was heavily cut by the BBFC. The UK Pegasus DVD (released as "Emanuelle's Sweet Revenge") was cut by 7 minutes to remove all shots of violence and sex featuring a naked child present. These cuts were made under the Protection of Children Act 1978.

Yeah, the Media Blasters DVD is occasionally still available on ebay.com, but a new edition would be very welcome - provided the resolution was as good or better than the Media Blasters version. Also some more extras like production stills would be nice - I wish I had a copy of the German DVD as it apparently has more such material. And I'd love to have a Blu-ray, too.

As for controversy, well, oddly enough, there doesn't seem to have ever been any over this film, despite it being an "adult" film featuring a minor fully nude in three scenes, the last of which is just barely this side of soft-core. Given the nominal star of the film is Laura Gemser, one would have expected it to have received more coverage at the time, but it seems to have slipped under the radar - I searched in vain for contemporary reviews, and only found a few newspaper ads for showings. It's not like they tried to hide the content, as the trailer contained a good portion of the shower scene, and some theatres even had lobby cards that also showed Livia sans clothes. The trailer I could only find on the DVD, but it's just clips from the film so if you've seen that you saw what was in the trailer - no new material. Still, it must have been something to see sitting in the theatre at the time - can you imagine?

I guess you’re right, the Gemser/Emmanuellw films were already known for their erotica in general. With „Menina do Lado“ (1987) there was stuff like the parents of the classmates of the lead actress demanding her to get expelled from the school because they saw her as bad influence etc lol

I don't think so. The ok.ru file has 25fps and German DVD is in PAL also. So the mystery remains...
