Use VLC and open the .IFO file in it and it'll play the DVD with the menu and everything and like it's one file. But a mkv remux probably isn't a bad idea for those who like it;

Extract the RAR and then use MakeMKV on the .IFO file in the VIDEO_TS folder. (Run MakeMKV, then navigate through the folders until you get to the sole file in the folder that it recognizes.)

Wait for it to process. The largest Title will be the movie, the rest will be the bonus features. You only have to select the Titles you want with the audio and subtitles you want. Then select an output folder and click "Make MKV". Wait a few minutes for it to process and then rename the results.

This DVD was PAL (so based of 576 lines not 480 with NTSC), but it wasn't widescreen enhanced - so had a vertical resolution of only about 460 lines. Topaz was upscaling it 156.5% to 720p. Pushing it to 1080p would be >200% and it looked a bit fake.

I remember multiple talking-head documentaries in Danish with optional English subtitles. Maybe I did not listen closely enough if there was one in German!
