I hate to be an annoying nitpicker, but was she REALLY 16 during filming?

IMDB has her as Born November 15, 1976.
and this TV Movie released 16 May 1994.

Considering the usual short turn-around for television productions, more than 6 months from filming to airing seems a long time, unless it is some scifi film that requires alot of special effects post-production. Maybe this one was a long time filming or some such.

Actually ... if you have some site that lists production dates, I am interested in THAT, just in general. Thanks.

Plot synopsis translated from French:
Hyppolite BIBARD, three times broken in rank, receives his sudden assignment to Casablanca: "Will place himself on November 14 at the disposal of Commander Féroud". This one is none other than Mehmet PACHA, French officer converted to Islam, venerated by the Muslim world from the Nile to the Euphrates, courageous, cunning, cruel, secret and subtle man, who fascinates Hyppolite, without yet attract him the slightest sympathy. Until the latter meets, in the person of young Violette, who both weakens and humanizes Mehmet PACHA. Between the two men, as between doubles, the confrontation is therefore inevitable..

(Virginie plays Violette.)

Virginie Ledoyen was 17 yrs 06 mo's 01 days old at release date. Even if they started shooting after her 25 november birthdate, she's still would've been playing a 16 year old, most likely.
And unless it's set in l'hiver, that seems unlikely. I'd read the description but I'm so allergic to spoilers, i don't even wanna know what genre these movies are. (Yes, I'm seeing someone for that....   )

I dunno, I think you might be assuming too much to just arbitrarily decide her character was 16 without more information. Certainly she could have been, but they could have just decided Virginie was hot and liked her look. I certainly have not read the book so I don't know. But considering the era (pre-WWII?) and the fact that the French characters considered her "young", 16 is a reasonable guess I must admit.

I don't read movie descriptions because spoilers, but ... yes what you say. And, given our previous discussion: it's unlikely they wanted her to portray an 18 year old.

For what it’s worth, there definitely must have existed some VHS/TVRip copy Of This Film because there are some photos and video on a nsfw site where they show the actress nude scene. (She does look more like a young woman than a teenager or child in these)
