Plot
Since Ben has been living apart from his ex-wife Mira and his children, his life has fallen apart. But unexpectedly, he gets a second chance: when Mira, pregnant to the teeth, has to be hospitalized, his children live with him again. This time, everything will be fine - he thinks. But his son Oskar brings a small problem: he wears a dress that he doesn't want to take off.

Personal Note:
When German films are made with a thematic focus, it often ends in disaster because they are all too happy to turn it into an obsessive comedy, especially at Warner. So I was all the more surprised that this fate didn't quite befall "Oskar's Dress". On the whole, the story is surprisingly down-to-earth and well made, as well as varied, only in a few passages do some scenes seem exaggerated or unnecessary, but you can tend to overlook that.
Overall, I actually liked the film much better than "A Kid Like Jake" from the USA in 2018.

Thanks for your release, DS.
I don't know why I didn't download/watched it before. This was really a good movie.
Thanks to Nuasada for bringing it to FLM.
The question isn't solved yet: Is Lauri a boy or a girl?
German subtitles here: https://www.opensubtitles.org/de/subtit ... s-kleid-de, if someonne wants to translate them.

Around Lauri I mean to read in the past, that they would not give any more details about him/her, because to protect the child. So I think it's a good thing to do that.

Re: [REL] Oskars Kleid (2022)
Thank you Nasuada this sounds really interesting so I'm definitely going to check it out.
Ive watched films from a lot of countries ive never watched films from before since I registered here. It's been sort of an exploration of different cultures through film. Maybe that's overstating a bit but it's definitely been fun, regardless

Re: [REL] Oskars Kleid (2022)
Im weird or maybe too conservative…I find it kind of weird that they make so many films about this topic. I’m not going as far as right wing people claiming „our kids are being indoctrinated“ but the topic does make feel icky (probably for no good reason). I’m fairly pro trans etc but it’s weird when they tell those stories about kids (I know there are trans people that knew from very early on that they feel different to what their body’s gender is).
I guess to me they make these things a bigger topic than it actually is (for me). Just let your kid be how & whoever they want to be and affect them, support them in the best way possible,
Doesnt really matter in the end if the kids named Tim or Tammy.
