Maybe a little exaggeration - VHS and DVDrip would go in the same place :)

Every so often there is a discussion about the organization on TNT, either publicly or in the staff room. We know there's a lot of forums. It's how it is, for various reasons. As Night457 says, there's no reason to hide the conversation over here. The admin would likely add their thoughts on TNT.

My own opinion, I think discussion forum software just isn't the ideal tool for organizing a media catalog. We have to make the best of it.

Night457 wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:44 am TheNextThing file organization is entirely their own business and members can discuss it THERE in the appropriate forums, although I do not expect them to change any more than I expect FLM to change. If you like one topic per movie here at FLM, well I do too despite its own drawbacks. I can tell you that at FLM members are constantly requesting eMule reshares of older files when they have been upgraded 2 or 3 times since then! Because the "Request selected files" button is anonymous, I can not tell if (1) they prefer generally smaller files, or (2) they start at the beginning of a long thread and do not realize that the better files are usually toward the end, and that those are more likely to still be shared too.
I always read the topic from the end and go up, looking for the best quality of the movie, I agree there is a movie DVD5-9 quality better than HD or HDTV quality better than regular FullHD, but still most people will not download vhsrip, if there is an HD direct link

Of course you are the admins it is your right to decide how to publish topics and design on the forum, I have nothing against it ;)

It's just, I come across lots of movies on the forum 2-3 threads with the same parameters - one topic DVD5 quality, another DVD9, a third has the same movie DVDrip - video parameters are the same, maybe a little better than DVD9, the photo screenshots seem to be the same and you think what quality of the movie to downloading

I think that is the right way to do it, I approve. But if I discover an interesting discussion then I go back to the beginning and read forward. You may have guessed that I spend more time posting than actually watching movies.

Then there are the obsessives like me where the VHS is the only source for their preferred version. (Same movie, different edit.) But those movies are rare and I can not think of any FLM examples anymore. There are also some collectors on the blu-ray.com forums who swear by laserdisc when it has the uncompressed original audio and the blu-ray does not. Hybrid digital versions from multiple sources take care of that, anyway.

Of course, you are a moderator on the forum, and you spend more time post than to watch movies, you need to edit, add, delete unnecessary material , but admins in your absence, also everyone can do it (so that there is no mess on the forum) everyone has their own family stuff, problems, work , and movies are leisure time activities

Please do not misunderstand me: I am not complaining, just recognizing a reality. What I do online I CHOOSE to do. Don't think I am overworked here, because the Moderating activity is accomplished quickly and FLM time is pretty much all leisure. Instead, I can waste HUGE amounts of time on sheer nonsense. I could technically spend more time "watching" movies, but I am honest enough to acknowledge that when I fall asleep while a movie plays then that means that I am NOT watching it. Doing even trivial things on the computer can generally keep me awake, but when I reach the point where I am falling asleep while my fingers are on the keyboard then I know to put the laptop away and lie down in bed. In the recliner in a darkened living room with a movie the difference is not so obvious. "I'm still listening, I am just resting my eyes." When I was young I could watch 3 movies a day along with full-time work and even other leisure activities. No more! Now movie time and nap time are basically the same.

Yes, good sleep is health, a person needs at least 7 hours of sleep, if I do not sleep, I go all day broken and tired, coffee and tea does not help to get back to normal
As for movies, I watch 2 - 3 movies before going to bed, sometimes less, it all depends on the interesting plot, if it drags, then until the end, if it's boring, I fall asleep and turn it off ;)

missed this thread somehow. :)

As @Dream wrote, actor might be as old , as his boyish look is still existing. So around 18-22 with a little wiggle room. Its not a written down rule. Kind of a guideline.

Talked million times about how we could improve it, without a major reorganizing. Didnt really find a solution

But it was the main reason why i wrote the tnt search engine. And i am still working on a better version right now.
Dealing with infinite tv series multiplied by the infinite threads was a big ass pain , especially when you start from scratch.

We simply dont want draw an attention. We have seen major waves from unwanted resources, and closed the registrations couple of times.
Forced registration also gives you a feel about how many individuals do really want to stay more than a minute and be quite at least . (1 or 2 from 30 per week)

It's a good rule that age is not taken into account (because there are a lot of interesting youth movies, not only with children under 16 years old)

I understand perfectly well why you closed the site, yes, not everyone likes this subject, and many people have a negative attitude towards it.
But on the forum there are many interesting and rare movies, which I like ;)
