Are the subs hardcoded? And are you saying that the subs for Japanese and English are on at the same time? Does it take up anlot of screen space?

The subs are only for the music videos and for the most part are optional. Only Iine's subs are hardcoded and Gimme Choco doesn't have any subs. The subs are for both romaji and English at the same time. In other words, you can't choose only one or the other. They don't look any bigger to me than normal subs. This is what the subs look like:

The subs for the dance version of Doki Doki Morning look the same as in the regular video
