Well, this is the autobiographical story of Writer-DIrector Francesca Comencini and her relationship with her father. Assuming that relationship continued into her adulthood, it seems perfectly reasonable for the movie to continue there too!

But you are allowed to cut if off after 37 minutes if you want. There are movies I have seen before that I know there are sections or endings I will want to skip, and just stick with the "good parts". It took me enough decades to stop watching the credits to the end, and after that I was free to do ANYTHING.

The movie is wonderful, honestly - whether it's the first part or the second. And the credits (no spoilers!!) are just as interesting to watch; it's the first time I've stayed in a movie theater after the end of a movie. It's definitely worth a watch.

So it has bloopers like a Burt Reynolds movie or it is a Marvel movie with an extra scene at the end?
it's the first time I've stayed in a movie theater after the end of a movie.
I did that all the time when I actually went to theaters, and I am sure it annoyed those trying to leave because I always sat on an aisle seat. Their possibly being annoyed did not bother me because THEY were annoying ME by blocking my view! Eventually I would stand mostly out of the way in the aisle and watch the credits. When modern movies finally switched to end credits that lasted over 10 minutes mentioning thousands of people then I finally had to give up. I no longer cared about all the people who worked so hard, or what pop songs they had playing over the credits. Nowadays I have a hard time with OPENING credits, which are also now ridiculously long. However, none of them match the 25 minutes of commercials + trailers that are continuing AFTER the supposed start time of the movie: one of the reasons I no longer go.

In short, I am very happy for home viewing. :D

No post-credit scene or bloopers,
Spoiler:

but rather clips from the films Luigi Comencini worked on... most notably those he helped preserve and saved from destruction by co-founding the Italian National Film Archive.
He was particularly active in the restoration of Italian silent films, which were at risk of disappearing due to lack of interest or technical resources. I would say he is one of the most important Italian filmmakers ever... :)

I always sit in the middle! :D

Thanks for the links, Caleyunior!

At least we have Italian subtitles (I guess the French subs are machine translated).
