[REL] Child of Rage (1992)

This sounds rather good...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103955/

Ashley Peldon is frighteningly real as "Cat" a child who grew up abused and molested, who is then adopted by Mel Harris and Dwight Schultz. Despite their love and attention, the child gets worse (the scene where she abuses the family dog is rather chilling).

Harris learns that the child had a less than ideal upbringing; again this brings up the nature/nurture debate. Harris finally encounters a therapist (Mariette Hartley) who theorizes that the rage must be tapped into, to find the source of the child's pain.

What is interesting and valuable about this Lifetime movie is that it addresses a particular pathology, how the parents attempt to deal with it, and how the health care and/or social work system cannot or will not.

Mariette Hartley, whose father committed suicide (in real life) is very credible as the therapist, discussing rage and denial issues. With problems such as this, it seems society has only begun to skim the surface.

anyone...

Wow... I can't believe this was never released.

I've had the DVD of this movie for years. When this was first posted, sodepetahi seemed so ready to provide that I figured I'd let him rip & release...

I'm visiting my parents for this week out of state, but when I return home, I'll see about getting this movie out there. (Figuring Amadeus' release is probably dubbed in French...) ;)

Thanks, kev. Amadeus' link is probably something else altogether. S5E08 suggests season 5 episode 8. Probably this:
"The Streets of San Francisco" (1972) TV series 1972-1977
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068135/

Child of Anger (season 5 episode 8)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0711510/

What we want is this: (mentioned in the initial post)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103955/

LOL!!

I'm gonna have to download it JUST to see Karl Maulden... Geeze, I miss that guy!! ;) ...AND to hear him speaking FRENCH!... :thumbsup

OK, then. When I get back, FOR SURE then, I'll root out my copy of 'Child of Rage' [it's like a Lifetime 'trauma-of-the-week' movie, back when movies about Torey Hayden and Mary Mac Cracken's books {'Untamed Love' from 'One Child' by TH; and 'Lovey: A Circle of Children 1 & 2' by MMC} were all the vogue.].

Good film.

Damn,I think you're right emuler. Came up in a global search using Rarefilms AKA French name: L'Enfant De La Colere.

I download a lot of TV series, so that S5E08 set my spidey senses tingling. Not to worry, kev is on the job. :clap
