Not sure if this is a release, or fake or only part of the release? But we'll see I guess.

That file screams "Fake"... most of the people downloading it have it as a different film's name, a Spanish version of "Hoodwinked(2005)'. Since that film is animated, 5MB should be enough to prove it's a fake.

EDIT: Yes, it's Hoodwinked, a fake.

I'm not really expecting to see anything better than spiders and snakes... My imagination will imprint the rest. They'd have been better off banging her live on a Superbowl Sunday Budweiser commercial. :)

There's an eMule setting "Try to download preview chunks first" which you should have checked, it tries to get the first and last chunks of the file and that enables most AVI files to be previewed.

Also, VLC seems to be good at previewing, especially with the partfile plugin. I don't know whether the plugin was necessary for me to preview this file, sometimes it is, sometimes even with the plugin it can't do it. But it often works.

If you are already had both of the above, then you just had bad luck with that one I guess :)

So what's the status of this film. Official site says Sept 19th. Has it been release? I don't know, I haven't really been looking.

It was released on Sep 19 to 11 theaters or so, with the intention of adding theaters a week later (a common release pattern). However, the same protest groups as before emerged from the woordwork and so the film is still playing in a few of the original places but not all, and no more that I've heard of.

The protests are ignorant (as they are most of the time) since they haven't seen the picture and are responding to biased and outdated reports. Some are linking this and Towelhead, simultaneously attacking Hounddog's filmmakers for involving a 12 year old girl while ignoring the fact that Towelhead's lead actress is 18 (though her character is 13). In the end it comes down to the fact they publicity and found this topic gets it.

Here's a funny excerpt from http://justpressplay.net/movies/movie-n ... -back.html
Nevertheless, Hounddog finally opened last week in a whopping total of 11 theaters. After a week, the film has earned a little under $14,000. The new edit also garnered some positive reviews, though since it's not playing anywhere near me, I cannot confirm.

Look, here's the deal. Of course we don't want child actors to be exploited. One episode of that Danny Bonaduce show can pretty much tell you that. That said, it's ridiculous that everyone cries "child porn" whenever we have a movie dealing with underage rape. It's not like Dakota Fanning is full-on naked and objectified in the movie. Descriptions of the scene say that it's darkly lit and all you can see is Dakota's pained face begging for the assailant to stop. Does that sound like child porn? Jodie Foster did nastier stuff in Taxi Driver. She turned out pretty okay most of the time (other times, she has this aberrant tendency to star in Flightplan).

Well, okay, sure, you can make the case that such a blatant involvement of a minor in a lewd act—no matter how negatively portrayed—is going to illicit a reaction from pedophiles. Yeah, but you know what else pedos jerk off to? Dora the Explorer. How about we ban that from television too? That damn fox is getting on me nerves.
