[REL] "The Queen's Nose" TV SER 1995

This is an excellently entertaining series being repeated in UK at the moment I think, and has very cute actresses (there have been a couple of series at least). That is a bonus because it stands alone as a highly amusing concept and example of how to write good childrens TV without going OTT, or having to use animation. Special effects are OK.

Can't find on EM so may have to resort to buying from BBC if nobody has this.

Thanks

IMDB : I don't think the previous writer really understood the concept behind the Queen's Nose...it's based on a book of the same name by the brilliant children's author Dick King-Smith. In the book (as in the early series) Harmony is given a magical 50 pence piece with an unusual design on (a wreath made of clasped hands - these were the old 50 pence pieces) and a riddle to solve. Once she solves the riddle, she discovers that by rubbing the coin exactly on the spot where the Queen's nose is (on the profile of the queen on the coin) she is granted one wish out of a total of seven. The book (and the first series) dealt with her ensuing adventures. Admittedly the later series were tired and had little to do with the original story, but the first few were great and were (mainly) true to the book. I thought they were great when they first appeared on television - one of my weekly television highlights! (After having watched the series and read the book I even came across an old 50 pence piece with the same design and half believed it would grant me wishes too - well, I was a lot younger then!)The acting and the pace were both well executed - well worth watching.

Yes; it looks like it's only been released on VHS, though:

Interesting: It appears the child that played 'Harmony' in the series is 'Victoria Shalet' [ http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0787728/ ]; who's been in quite a lot of TV shows/movies incuding 'The Maid' with Martin Sheen [a stinker that HAD potential, but minumized Shalet's role to the first and last part of the movie with a lot of boring crap inbetween... lol]

Some pix available when she's older:

Sounds like a cool show, billanben. Thanks for the heads up!

I pity those who have to depend on direct download... I could have reshared this via eMule in literally 3 minutes, instead I spent too much of the last 5 hours fucking around with uploading this (had to do it three times). In terms of human time and attention and hassle required to upload and download, I have found eMule is usually superior...

Anyway... http://rapidshare.com/files/139693630/Q ... 06.avi.htm

When was it ever shared on ed2k to begin with? I don't see an ed2k link in this thread; the title still says [REQ]. :bigups Certainly anything you are sharing on ed2k is way better that way than any other. :thumbsup Direct downloads make you jump through a lot of hoops if you don't have a premium account. :( I'll get it tonight from your uploaded link when there is less chance of an interruption. The mains power supply over here sucks. :(

Do you by any chance have the entire series? :dance

That is the file which whohas uploaded to zshare (now dead links), extracted from the two RARs. So that's all I have, though apparently he has more. So it was shared, just not on eMule.

whohas: how about posting the rest of these? :clap Nice clean family fun.

About the aspect ratio, it is really weird, but it plays fine using the TV output of my nVidia graphics adapter on my PC. Glad nVidia got something right with the TV out. :bigups
