In a remarkable turn-of-events, the result of the presidential election comes down to one man's vote.
Kevin Costner stars as Bud Johnson, an apathetic, beer slinging, lovable loser, who is coasting through a life that has passed him by, except for the one bright spot in his mundane existence, his precocious, over achieving twelve-year old daughter, Molly. She takes care of them both, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events which culminates in the presidential election coming down to one vote, her dads.
Very nice film. The girl might not be all that pretty in the classical sense but you'll be in love with her by the time the film ends.
Strange that the person who comes of age is over 50 years old. :think

This has been released at STF. Screenshots stolen from STF and IMDB.

Good catch, Debaser. :thumbsup Now I get to say 'Nothing gets by these Brits'. :)

On one level this is very scary movie. Kelsey Grammer as the incumbent President, and Dennis Hopper as the contender. Enough to give anyone nightmares. :bomb :icon_biggrin2

I think it's a little humorous that when this was released theatrically in the US, SHE wasn't shown in the trailers hardly at all. They focused on Kevin Costner [who at first glance I mistook for Billy Bob Thorton :eyecrazy] and the other adult stars. I guess they didn't feel she would pull the audiences in... Now if she had been Dakota Fanning her name would have probably topped Kevin's [considering his career of late]!! lol

OH! And here's a short film of hers to watch out for:

"Well. There you have it!" :thumbsup

This was my evening 'watch' for last night. Could it happen?........unlikely, but hugely entertaining & what a little darling! I nearly got quite sentimental when she finally managed to get piss-pot Costner to do the right thing.
btw.....do you guys really vote like that with a touch screen? All we get is a ballot slip & a pencil to put a cross in the box. Probably because half the population can't write.....
