[REL] Ma femme est une actrice (2001)

What was Serge Gainsbourg for Jane Birkin seems to be Yvan Attal for FLL's "English lady" Charlotte Lucy Gainsbourg - but the latter never made the mistake to marry, notwithstanding a son of 11, Ben, and a daughter of 5, Alice.

This comedy of 2001, directed by Yvan Attal, could well pass for a documentary of this liaison.
IMDb wrote:Paris can boast a population of 2,125,246. Of these 1,153,000 are women and 10,000 are actresses. Yvan, a young sports writer, is married to one who is very well known - Charlotte. They try to live a normal life, but her fame makes it difficult - autograph hunters interrupt their dinners, cops about to serve traffic summonses let them off with a warning and a smile when they recognize her, and impossible-to-get restaurant reservations magically appear when Charlotte makes the calls instead of Yvan. All this threatens and challenges his male ego, but Yvan is able to take her stardom in stride. Until, that is, a man at a bar asks him if he gets jealous watching his wife make love in the nude to another man on screen. It has never seriously bothered him before, but the stranger sows the first seed of doubt in his head...
The premiere was at the Toronto Film Festival 2001 what means Charlotte was 29 when the movie was made. You might pass this over, cause there are no child roles...
ooops!

I assure you there is no big difference as for the picture quality between the links...just chose any...

Hell no. I cited a commentary, that should be enough.

I take it you noticed that there are several sub files on eMule, so help yourself, cause a lot of the movie is in French...wonder what they are speaking in Puducherry or however they are spelling it nowadays...apart from Tamil, that is...

Since your entire feedback has been that you forgot the IMDB link, let me chime in ;)

Thanks for posting this movie!

I like the fact that you often post interesting movies which feature people we already know. And I like the background commentary. And I particularly like the fact you put quotes inside quote boxes -- sometimes I am left scratching my head whether what is posted is the poster's words or a quote. It matters to me, since over time I have learned various posters' likes and dislikes and use that as a factor to decide whether to grab and watch the movie.

For my own releases, if it's not inside a quote box or otherwise clearly indicated, it's my own opinion and my own words. The editorial comments and screencaps are one of the great things about FLM, we have come a long way since early 2004 when it seemed most releases consisted of just an IMDB quote, a DVD cover pic, and an ed2k link.

By the way... I do really like an IMDB link, so I can easily check out other details of the release, so don't disparage that too much. And an RFF link too if applicable. More information is good.

What's this, beat up emuler day? :icon_1dancingban

That said, I'm not much into documentaries, and may the Good Lord and fellow FLM members forgive me, I'm not a fan of Charlotte Gainsbourg. I prefer cute and cuddly. :)

.. now I have to go edit one of my posts and put the text in quotes. :bigups
