[REL] Miss Potter (2006)
Stumbled upon this nice movie on Beatrix Potters life. Lucy Boynton plays the role as young Bea at age 11. A few times during the first 20 minutes you get to see flashbacks from Beatrix' young days of talented drawing and historytelling.
Thirty years old and single, Beatrix Potter lives in London with her social-climbing parents, who are exasperated that she has turned down any number of eligible young men. Her only real friends are the animals which since childhood she has lovingly drawn and made up stories about. She finally succeeds in selling a book of the stories, and it becomes Norman Warne's first project. He quickly falls in love with both the book and Beatrix and together they carefully arrange publication. This proves the first of many successes, offering her the possibility of escaping from both her parents' way of life and London.

The role of young Beatrix Potter is played by little Lucy Boynton whom we saw as Posy Fossil in Ballet Shoes. Very cute in this movie too.
My internet is pathetic since the ship in the Mediterranean Sea cut two internet cables belonging to our main backbone connectivity provider; 60% of India's bandwidth is gone. Someone please provide screenshots.

Re: [REL] Miss Potter (2006)
MKV?
That's all I need - another video format.
I can play it on pc with VLC but doesn't want to burn to disc (with Nero) - and I doubt it will play on DVD player as AVI's do.
AVS 5 (video converter) tells me it doesn't support the file and I really don't want to shell out a bucket full of money for version 6 (that states it supports MKV) until I know that it actually works and isn't a fault in the original file.
Has anyone done this yet? I'm thinking it might be easier (and cheaper) to just buy the DVD.
Thanks Guys.

The mkv (Matroska) format is a container. It can have all sorts of things, like multiple audio tracks, subtitles, chapters, cover art, etc.).
You can extract the video and audio from the file and your video converter should then be able to handle it.
Google for Matroska for more info. http://www.matroska.org/

Re: [REL] Miss Potter (2006)
Ok thanks emuler. I appreciate your replying. On the site they say you can convert to DVD using DVDsanta 4.0 (but it didn't work) and they actually admit most products that state can convert to AVI don't work either.
Not sure what you mean by extract either. Which program do you use to do that?
Has anyone here actually successfully converted these files to AVI or DVD?
Don't usually have problems with new concepts etc but this one has got me stumped. Great playback on PC though. Just want to see it on the big screen without having to hook the PC to it.
Cheers.
