[REL] Die Perlmutterfarbe (2009)

This is my first release so I hope I do this right :blush

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1206486/
http://www.rarefilmfinder.com/showfilm.php?id=18293
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEkXGCTJTUk
As helmed by Markus Rosenmüller, this German-language period saga unfurls in 1931, and centers around a teenager who tells a seemingly innocent and harmless lie. In truth, the act of deception carries devastating and unforeseen consequences that will cast a dark shadow over the young man's future.
From the trailer it looks to be mainly a boy movie (not that that means it can't be good) but it does star Zoë Mannhardt from "Hände weg von Mississippi" https://www.first-loves.net/forums/v ... php?t=3524

I've finished downloading both of these versions and although the larger file does have noticeably better video quality, it has a really bad russian dub. How bad you ask? Well, the whole movie is done by one guy and you can still hear the german actors in the background. It's like you're sitting next to someone in the theater who won't shut up. It's actually pretty funny... :blush

Pretty common for Russian dubbing, this has come up before here. They need to leave the original audio in the background because otherwise it would be complete silence (no music or background sounds). It's unclear whether this is fandubbing or whether it was just a very cheap translation for commercial release.

the Russian dub is a sat rip. it comes from a site like ours except it is primarily a boy site. ;)

AFAIK this kind of dubbing is quite common in Russia. It is used for lots of stuff in TV and even on some commercial DVDs (I have some of such DVDs myself). Funny, because the dubbing is really annoying and producing subtitles should be even cheaper...

Maybe in former times, dubbing could be used to censor out certain words, but that should not be needed anymore :think

if i ran across the same type of dubbing in English, i would not be able to enjoy the film. i can't see how someone who speaks Russian would either. perhaps your right BLT about another reason for it. maybe it is contractile obligation or they have never been forced to watch one of their own dubs. maybe they are just evil :think

It's funny that I never came across a movie like that. I guess as a rule I try to avoid foreign movies that've been dubbed. I always prefer to watch them in their original languages with English subtitles. And a German movie dubbed in Russian? I wouldn't watch that even if I knew Russian! :blush
