[REL] Game of Thrones (2011- ) TV Series

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0944947
Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between the houses Stark, Lannister and Baratheon, and with the remaining great houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, and Tyrell, leads to full-scale war. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. Amidst the war and political confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond.
Magnificent ADULT fantasy TV series. Has me totally hooked. :onfire Has a couple of FLM worthy children in major roles. No nudity from them, so far, but plenty of graphic nudity, sex and violence from the older cast which includes a young looking 24 year old - Emilia Clarke. ARTHORIUS will be pleased.

FLM interest: Maisie Williams http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3586035/ I didn't think much of her at first, but she grows on you. :inlove Has a role as big as the rest of the central characters, although screen time is shared by a large cast.

Older sister is played by Sophie Turner who was 15 when the first season started.

My internet is being a real PITA. Can't even upload more screenshots. Will try again later when things are better.

Seasons 1 and 2 released on BluRay. BRrip by ganool available on torrent - about 4GB per season. Go get. :icon_1dancingban :icon_1dancingban :icon_1dancingban

The links to TPB are screwed up. Please select the entire line, copy, and paste in browser address bar.

Do you know if there is any difference between the TV and BluRay versions? The BluRay of Season 3 is expected to come out in Feb 2014. Should I hold out till then?

Apart of the BR-bonuses like actor commentaries and other extras, the BR image quality is really stunning and, in my opinion, worth the waiting if you are not in a hurry...

Just for the record: forget about that "4 GB per season" junk. You'll need at least 10 times as much, and if you are a fan of the series, you will do it with Torrent. The following should be your minimum standard:

http://thepiratebay.ac/torrent/7140312/ ... _%5BFtR%5D
http://thepiratebay.ac/torrent/8146909/ ... 4-PublicHD

Just use the search function of P-Bay: thrones 1080p, sort by "Size" and make your choice carefully. Read the comments of the posts before you make your decision!

I apologize to whoever is Admin on this board at present for advertising Torrent instead of eMule, but I feel emuler needs some advice,
and these files are really huge. Don't get me wrong: I'm not going to support this ugly bulldog infiniter!

Don't mess with The Hound. What is Sandor Clegane doing here with Arya Stark of Winterfell?

Thanks, idler. :) I would have been more interested in a comparison between S02E01 BluRay and S02E01 HDTV. I suppose it is more relevant to people from my part of the world. TV here is very rigidly censored - absolutely NO NUDITY AT ALL :wall: - and bad language is often bleeped out. Even subtitles are not spared. The general feeling here is that DVDs and BluRays are less censored for content. This applies even to Russian TV (with or without the ghastly overdub); for instance, they will show nudity, but will censor any explicit stuff.

As My Lord commands. I edited the above post to a comparison between BluRay and HDTV of the same episode; that should keep you busy for a while.

As for censorship, I understood you are living in a big country well south of Russia? For Game of Thrones, you better turn the other way around. GoT is released in Australia but half a year later than in the rest of the world, so everybody has a pirated version! And HBO tolerates it. Asked wether he thinks it's a compliment to own the most pirated show in the world, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes answered bluntly: „I have to admit it, I think you’re right. If you go to people who are watching it without subs[cription], it's a tremendous word-of-mouth thing," the exec told investors. "We've been dealing with this for 20, 30 years—people sharing subs, running wires down the backs of apartment buildings. Our experience is that it leads to more paying subs. I think you're right that Game of Thrones is the most pirated show in the world," he said. "That's better than an Emmy.".

On November 11th, 2013, there was a remarkable panel discussion with Lena Headey, Michelle Fairley and George R.R. Martin called "Ideas at the House". You can see it on YouTube; it took place at the Sydney Opera House, and Governor General Quentin Bryce was present, so it was very official. The moderator greeted the audience: "You are the first Australians ever to pay for "Game of Thrones!", and everybody laughed. Nobody cares about Copyright regarding GoT. You might find it difficult to follow an English discussion between a girl from Bermuda (Headey), a girl from Northern Ireland (Fairley), an East-coast-American living in New Mexico (Martin) and an Australian. Well, may be you hear strange English dialects in your country quite often.

Anyway, if you are looking for HQ versions of GoT, turn to "Down Under", they really do a great job. ;)

Thanks again, idler. Appreciated. I notice that the BluRay version is 52m 41s while the HDTV version is 50m 30s, but if you take into consideration the different frame rates, the BluRay version has just 38 extra frames, which could easily be attributed to the running time of the credits.

Sadly, we can't determine as much from the duration of the video as we used to. Censorship has come a long way from the days when 'objectionable' content was simply snipped out, resulting in the edited video being shorter in length. Now they can re-edit the footage, stretch the remaining footage by adding repeated frames to make up the length, re-sync the audio, add subtle shading and fogging, use panning to crop the original content to leave the objectionable stuff off-screen, etc. Only someone who has seen both versions can really be sure.
