Re: June (2014) [USA]
Don't think this has been released yet but judging from the trailers it's definitely a do-want. FLM interest is Kennedy Brice http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4613008.
June (2015) USA
JUNE
I mentioned this movie in another thread, but thought I'd go ahead and add some more info to saroyan's post!
Billed as a 'Coming of Rage' film, it's been compared to 'Carrie' because of a scene from the 'Proof-of-concept' video that was made to pitch the movie to investors; but I think it's more along the line of what 'Infernal' [ https://www.first-loves.net/forums/v ... 25&t=10565 ] was striving for. (In that 'Carrie' was about a girl that had telekinetic powers, and this movie is more of a 'possession' type film.)
Other movies that it's similar to would be 'The Exorcist' (1973), 'Demon Witch Child' [AKA: The Possessed] (1975), 'The Visitor' (1979), Manhattan Baby (1982), 'Case 39' (2009), 'The Possession' (2012) and I'm sure there's a bunch of other possessed, evil little girl movies that don't jump to mind at the moment.

I'm a bit disappointed that I missed whatever theatrical screenings they might have had of this film and it's going straight to DVD/Blu-Ray on October 6 of this year.
Oh well, still looking forward to this one!

Beauteous. Thanks to all for bringing this here.
Re: [REL] June (2014)
Just finished watching this...film. [sigh]
While better than the movie 'Infernal' [that I referenced in my earlier post] due to the child June having a lot more screen time than the child Imogene did in that film; June suffers from amateurish writing and lack of development for the character of June herself.. I never felt any empathy for her as she was such a one-note character; a stereotypical weird little girl that adults can't understand and other children make fun of.
It's a shame, really.. I wanted to care about her like I did for Em in the movie 'The Possession' and even Zoe in the film 'Hidden' [recently released here.. ].
However; Kennedy Brice does a pretty good job with the role she was given, looking beautiful onscreen, but rarely smiling.

My thoughts exactly. At the very least they should have given the bullies a scare, rather than let things escalate to the point of a blowout where everyone gets it.kev wrote:June suffers from amateurish writing and lack of development for the character of June herself.. Re: [REL] June (2014)
I bought this when I saw it tonight based on Kevs previous excitement (having not read his newest post).
And I was not disappointed.
I am used to most straight to dvd ANd released in theatre horror movies being total crap and I did not think this one was.
I thought the music and camera work was AWESOME. It was shot as if somebody had music video knowledge and incorporated that feel and look. While watching I thought some of the music channeled "Halloween" and that was confirmed in the special features.
Although, I agree with previous statements (amateurish writing and lack of development for the characters), I did not find the acting or writing horrid as I do for many in the horror genre.
The special features are way better then the commercials disguised as special features most dvds give.
All in all this was worth the $10 I paid. I may not go all out recommending this to friends, but I had an enjoyable evening.

^ I agree. This could have been a lot better, but it is by no means a stinker. I'm a fan of this genre, so I'm painfully aware of the garbage dished out on a routine basis.
I'd rate this 7/10. Just a few touches here and there, and this could have been a 9 or 10.
