Thanks for info and subs! Hopefully not much fantasy is needed. Unlike some recent American movies :wall

Bluray upgrade!

Stunning 16-year-old Marina de Graaf stars in this love story between a young girl and a much older man. Most sources claim Marina was 17 in this movie, but filming actually wrapped a few weeks before her 17th birthday. How much was actor Gerard Cox loving his job while he shot this film? :drool

My rip comes with English subtitles. As usual, they will display by default in most media players but you can shut them off - no hardcoding.

Thank you, deadman, I really liked this!

I made a corrected external English subtitle file to replace the internal subtitles:
Het Debuut (1977).1080p.bluray.dts.x264-sos.en.zip
There were a handful of lines scattered throughout that appeared to be mistranslations:
- Dooslthmbbemw?
- L'mhoœ.
- Wa'mhavhgalookatapüœ
- Slnœbdoœlwasbom.
- L lhlnkyou'œ nelly met.
- Comm.You'œnotsœmd.
:icon_1roflmao :icon_1roflmao :icon_1roflmao

I used another English subtitle file to fix the lines in question. There is also one line where I am not sure if the standard translation is correct. It seemed to me that Carolien was making a pun. She and Hugo both were very amused. LEFT is original, RIGHT is my suggested version:

[Image][Image]
160
00:15:29,178 --> 00:15:32,723
What a joy to sit here.

[My suggestion: What a joy to shit here.]

Perhaps a native Dutch speaker with good hearing who has this film can check this scene out and verify what I THINK she is saying? This seems to me to be the punchline to the previous minute of banter where Carolien and Hugo are mocking the real estate agent. I would like the FLM Dutch to decide which is correct.

Thank you.

The vote is in: it is SIT, not SHIT. I guess the Dutch moviemakers are not quite in tune with the level of sophistication of my sense of humor. (I.e., a pretty low level.) I had thought otherwise based on some of the raunchier Dutch films I've seen.

I have corrected my previous post so that I am sharing the "SIT" subtitle version. Anyone who has already downloaded the "SHIT" version can edit that one word or leave it as is!

These subtitles came from a bluray disc, so they were professionally done. I didn't have to translate them from Dutch. Your line is probably wittier than the actual dialogue but ... 8-)

I figured that with two different sources saying SIT, it was likely the right choice, but "professionally done" does not necessarily mean CORRECT. I see incorrect, censored or overly loose "translations" all the time on dvd and blu-ray. I have seen fansubs that are better than the pro versions. The professionals can not even get SAME LANGUAGE subtitles correct, so why should they get translations correct?

Thank you for acknowledging my spectacular wit!

Very true. Actually many times the subtitles from fans over at addi7ed.com were better and had less errors than official subtitles from hbo shows etc.
