[REL] Cloak and Dagger (1984)
[REL] Cloak and Dagger (1984)
Nine year old Christina Nigra plays a substantial role in Cloak and Dagger - though the lead character is a boy. She has enough screen time to qualify for an FLM listing. The main character is played by Henry Thomas (ET - the Extra-terrestrial).
I thought I saw this movie on FLM a while back, but I couldn't find it now. Maybe it was one of those that disappeared from the site.
11-year-old Davey, whose mother is dead and whose father is preoccupied with his own problems, has retreated into a world of video games and an imaginary hero-pal, the swashbuckling superspy Jack Flack. When an FBI agent about to be murdered slips him a video cartridge containing top-secret data, Davey is suddenly plunged into the intrigue and danger of real-life espionage. No adult believes his story, so he must run a gauntlet of violence and villainy aided only by a younger girl and the encouragement of "Jack Flack" at his side. How long can a comic-book role model guide him through this encounter with reality?
Though this type of storyline has been used in numerous films, this film is more believable than most as far as the actions and abilities of the kids - no "super-kid" type stuff.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087065
I ripped this from my DVD but no matter what I tried, I could not get this movie to produce using the entire playbox - so there are thin black lines on the top and bottom. I typed in a custom screen size to get it this close. Any suggestions for getting a film to fill up the entire screen? I used AVS video editor after trying a couple of other programs.

Looks fine to me, vidman. Probably just an aspect ratio thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio_%28image%29
Re: [REL] Cloak and Dagger (1984)
Yeah. I think that is what it is, BUT I tried the various aspect ratios available in the various programs I used - and none of them matched. I finally started typing in custom screen sizes and at least I got closer. The article you cite has a lot of interesting information, but nothing that helped my specific problem. Thanks anyway!emuler wrote:Looks fine to me, vidman. Probably just an aspect ratio thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio_%28image%29

Thanks, vidman, for posting. I'd suggest Handbrake, which is trusted open source software. https://handbrake.fr/
