Which one, the DVD posted in 2019 ...

... or the Blu-ray in 2021?

I was confused to discover that I had somehow missed gettting either one of them, even with the thread continuing to be active in between and following his posts. It seems that I always thought "Oh yeah, I got that one" and did not bother to actually CHECK. I did not try the eMule links just now. Jdownloader shows me that the MEGA and Zippyshare links for the Blu-ray are still active, as are the Zippyshare for the DVD; the MEGA link for the DVD is dead. (I am going for the Blu-ray.)
I don't have any objection to eMule but I do know that MEGA and Zippy are faster, and deadman always gives the choice. (Thank you!) Sometimes I will even just use eMule to download a newer deadman Release. But if eMule is not working for someone for one of the files, I don't understand why they don't use one of the direct-download options? I remember Zippy is geo-blocked in some places, but what about MEGA? Is that site also impossible with some IPs, or is it simply a matter of sometimes needing and not having the bandwidth to succeed in direct-downloading large files? I do remember being unhappy with spending 12 hours direct-downloading something and being afraid the link would break, so I guess I ought to understand that. Although I did eventually discover that Jdownloader2 allows the resuming of most files, and certainly MEGAs.
I am just curious. I always put deadman's files into my shared eMule folder after I finish downloading them from MEGA anway, so it will be there in a few hours.

Re: [REL] Beau-père (1981)
I love using MEGA, but it has a bandwidth cap. As its popularity grows, more and more people upload files using it, which makes downloading multiple files from MEGA a much bigger hassle, since if I download one large file, I'll have to wait half a day to download another large file. As for zippy, even though it has no cap, it does need to extract the files after the rar pieces finish downloading. So downloading 10gb of rar files becomes 20gb after extracting. This can become a problem for people with limited disc space. So sometimes, emule can be the preferred choice.Night457 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 6:51 pmWhich one, the DVD posted in 2019 ...

Re: [REL] Beau-père (1981)
Thanks, your explanation makes clear sense to me! I can't say I download more than one large MEGA file a day so I don't encounter a download restriction, but if I did then I would switch the server on my VPN to get around it. AND I realize that most people neither have nor want a VPN, so I still understand. (I never login to any of my accounts when I download MEGA.)
Cleaning up after extracting large files is critical for me for exactly the reason you say.

Re: [REL] Beau-père (1981)
If anyone is able to track down the 1992 documentary about Patrick Dewaere that was shown in Cannes back then, please let me know. Seems like a case of lost media since it never got a dvd/streaming release (only cinema).

I am not talking about the more recent (2021) documentary about him that was also shown In Cannes
