Un confine incerto AKA Nicht dein Mädchen (2019)

The police are investigating the kidnapping of a South Tyrolean girl. The official responsible tries to get information from that girl that will help him catch the ringleader. When the policeman finds out that the girl speaks Ladin, they start to communicate in this “secret language”. When the investigation reveals that a child-trafficking ring out of Eastern Europe is behind the kidnapping, a race against time begins.

I have no idea what's going on in this movie but looks kind of interesting...

Surprised not to find it here already, unless I missed it

Thanks, Rich, for finding this movie!
"An Uncertain Border" (Un confine incerto)
Gripping story of a child abduction by Isabella Sandri

A young man (Moisé Curia) and a girl (Anna Malfatti), together with a camper van through southern Germany. Fighting, dressing up, dancing, laughing – he is a seed representative, she his doll. While eating at a restaurant the landlord notices the strange couple and the rare language of the shy little one: Ladin. In Rome at the same time. Police commissioner Milia Demetz (Cosmina Stratan) investigates in cyberspace and is on the trail of a paedophile network. When she discovers a girl in one of the anonymous videos, she is soon certain: the lasciviously photographed child is Magdalena Senoner, who disappeared in Tyrol at the age of 5. But who is behind the camera? All the threads come together when the German landlord forwards the recordings from his surveillance camera to the police. Can Milia make up the kidnapper's time lead and bring little Magdalena back home?

"An Uncertain Border" tells the gripping story of a child abduction and takes a look at the taboo subjects of paedophilia and paedo-crime on the Internet. But the Italian director Isabella Sandri, who has so far mainly made documentary films, does not give simple answers. She combines the harsh realism of a psycho-crime novel with the enigmatic and poetic moments of an outsider ballad. Artistic European arthouse cinema, whose aesthetics and motifs also evoke masterpieces such as Kubrick's "Lolita" or Fellini's "La Strada".

EXCELLENT. I was thoroughly engaged and generally understood what was going on despite not knowing Italian. However, I do look forward to some day or some year having full English subtitles.

Mainstream film can not actually show child porn (understandably) but they can show (faked) child asphyxiation porn? Lovely.

Thank you so much ghost and Rich_Visiting for this film!

I replaced my previous post with an original version in Italian language without any hardcoded subtitles.

I can present English subtitles. They are auto-translated from the German subtitles and certainly need some corrections, but you can follow the plot.
If someone is willing to work on them, fell free... ;)

I also have the movie in German language:

:clap :dance :icon_1dancingban :onfire :thumbsup :icon_idea2 OMG YES!!!!

This is another great film that affected me deeply and seared itself into my brain.

You have NO IDEA how much of a relief and a joy this is for me. THANK YOU. Nearly two months now of endless Google searches for seemingly nonexistent subtitle sources, failed attempts at OCRing the partial hardcoded subs, then giving up and manually transcribing them all, frustration at not quite getting them synced right ... all in the hopes that by Murphy's Law putting in this effort would force complete subtitles to magically appear. And it worked. ghost is the magician!

I thought I would have to wait for the German dvd with German subtitles that supposedly comes in November, then rip that.

Volunteered. I have not looked closely at them yet to see how rough they are, but I am sure that I can do clean-up work.

I did say THANK YOU, yes? :D :D

Your're welcome ;)

The hardcoded subs appear ony in the parts where they speak Ladin (a pretty unknwon language, spoken in some parts of Italy). So, they would be pretty useless for the entire movie.

I didn't have to wait, because the film has been released for streaming here 2 days ago:

Yeah, I had to Wikipedia that back when I first watched it. The hardcoded parts also appear for the dialog in Romanian, German and English, and cover about a third of the total dialog. I also transcribed the computer-screen parts that were in Italian. While I already was understanding the little bit of English, even understanding a little more than a third of the film would be an improvement for me personally, though probably not something the forum would be enthusiastic about.

And as it turns out, I am using my transcribed Italian hardsubs for the German dialog portions to fill in the gaps in the machine-translated-from-German-to-English subtitle file, since the original was aimed at German speakers who don't need the German dialog translated. But I sure do!

That is exactly where (one day ago) I saw the info about the 6-months-from-now dvd release, and did not even notice that the streaming part was available NOW! Face palm!
