I had not noticed that, yes it is odd playing with no framerate. deadman was guessing it was an upscale from PAL dvd, but with that framerate and it having the same runtime as his NTSC iso, it seems likely to be an upscale from an NTSC dvd.David32441 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:16 am Oddly the 720p mkv has no detectable frame rate in VLC - but opening it in MediaInfo it thinks the FPS is 30 - which is very odd for any film unless ripped from USA TV. Would expect 23.97 (film) or 25 (European DVD or TV).
I do not yet have reptile12's PAL dvd tcompare runtime.
EDIT: Thank you reptile12! I now also have his PAL dvd, which has optional English subtitles. I don't understand how it has basically the same runtime as deadman's NTSC dvd. I would expect a PAL 4% speedup!! So like deadman said, that 720p upscale probably IS from the PAL disc. As for the 30fps framerate, someone must have left Handbrake on its default value.
