Eleven-year-old Lu is living in a foster home when her long-lost mother Karina shows up unexpectedly and takes her on a wild road trip in a beat-up sports car - all the way to her grandma in Poland. Lu soon finds out it's all or nothing with Karina when she gets pulled into a Bonnie and Clyde-like fantasy. But reality quickly catches up, forcing them to decide what they're willing to do to stay together forever.

I give it a Rating from 5 of 5 Stars. I like thy style of the movie, especially the Idea tho show the thoughts of Kiddo (Lu played by Rosa van Leeuwen) in a ratio of 4:3. The rest also feeling like a 70mm movie.
It's in some parts a very funny movie, but also very dramatic because of the strange mother and the hope of the kid.

I slapped a 2023 date on it because that is when it showed (premiered?) at the Berlinale. IMDB can catch up later.

So many movies again to expect from the Berlinale.

I think I will espacially like this one.

I'm still sad that I didn't get a sign from the girl. After the Q&A I stuck at my seat because of all other people in the cinema and if I reached the team, she was disapeared. After I collect the first signs, I go out to the foyer, but she was not there, so I ask some of the staff who I known, but they also not seen her.
I wait in front of the cinema for longer time, the rest of the team left the bulding, but nothing from the girl. My last try was to ask the director again, but she did not know, where the girl was

De 11-jarige Lu woont in een pleeggezin en droomt ervan om haar lang afwezige moeder Karina weer te zien. Naar het schijnt leeft ze als een ware filmster in Hollywood - ze doet zelfs haar eigen stunts. Als Karina onverwachts opduikt neemt ze Lu, zonder dat haar pleeggezin dat weet, mee op een avontuurlijke roadtrip in haar afgeragde sportwagen. Ze gaan naar Lu’s oma, helemaal in Polen, om een stapel geld op te halen die Karina daar jaren eerder heeft verstopt. Zo kunnen ze opnieuw beginnen en voor altijd samen zijn, belooft Karina. Het wordt een spannende en opwindende rit, want Karina’s levensmotto is ‘alles of niets’. Maar gaandeweg beseft Lu dat ‘gewoon een beetje’ ook al heel fijn kan zijn.

Translation:

11-year-old Lu lives in foster care and dreams of seeing her long-absent mother Karina again. Apparently she lives like a true movie star in Hollywood - she even does her own stunts. When Karina shows up unexpectedly, she takes Lu on an adventurous road trip in her beat-up sports car, unbeknownst to her foster family. They go to Lu's grandmother, all the way in Poland, to retrieve a pile of money that Karina hid there years earlier. That way they can start over and be together forever, Karina promises. It will be a thrilling and exciting ride as Karina's life motto is "all or nothing". But gradually Lu realizes that 'just a little' can also be very nice.

I didn't realize that I copied and pasted the plot in the original Dutch language. I'll be careful next time.
