RARBG torrents shuts down

https://rarbgweb.org/torrents.php

QUOTE from the RARBG link:
Hello guys,
We would like to inform you that we have decided to shut down our site.
The past 2 years have been very difficult for us - some of the people in our team died due to covid complications,
others still suffer the side effects of it - not being able to work at all.
Some are also fighting the war in Europe - ON BOTH SIDES.
Also, the power price increase in data centers in Europe hit us pretty hard.
Inflation makes our daily expenses impossible to bare.
Therefore we can no longer run this site without massive expenses that we can no longer cover out of pocket.
After an unanimous vote we've decided that we can no longer do it.
We are sorry :(
Bye

Sad day for all of us (except film studios). What are some alternatives close to RARBG quality?

Wow.

What an unexpected surprise. I had no idea things had been so difficult for them. They were one of the best torrent sites out there. Very consistent in their release format and quality. Incredible selection. I never thought it would fall under the category of "all good things".

Alternatives? Nothing I can think of as a one-stop-shop. yts and rutracker seem to work all right, but much more inconsistent. Btdig and solidtorrents are decent, but act more like roundup sites. https://torrentgalaxy.to/ appears to be a similar release site, but it has more of an intrusive appearance and isn't as streamlined.

Sad to see them go.

I did some scouting, found something that may be useful to some here, if you're considering alternatives:

From torrentleech.org:
Latest News
REFUGEERARBG Invitation Code
A few hours ago, RARBG closed its gates forever, leaving lot of people without a place they can call ”home”. For a very limited time, use code REFUGEERARBG and come be part of our family!

On top of that, you will get 15 GB of upload to help you start your journey!

Welcome aboard, and we hope you will feel like home <3

and so
Tracker’s Name: TorrentLeech

Genre: General/Movies/Scene/Music/Foreign/0Day/Archive Content/Dedicated Request

Registeriation link: https://www.torrentleech.org/user/account/signup

Invitation Code: REFUGEERARBG

new users will get 15 GB of upload to help you start your journey.

be sure to turn off your adblock during registration process!

Word on the street is this site requires maintaining a decent share ratio and offers a large quantity of freeleech torrents. A fair deal, considering they've kindly opened their doors to what's otherwise a private tracker.

From users from another torrent site:

- "You've got to keep a good ratio on that one..."
- "Between ratio and hit-and-run rules, a lot of people coming from an exclusively public tracker experience for the first time are going to be in for a bad time"

be sure to turn off your adblock during registration process!

Seems a pretty nice deal. Worth a try. Worst case, you get your account disabled, in which case you probably didn't enjoy the site much anyways.

Regarding Backups of the entire rarbg database (magnet links will still work without the rarbg tracker due to DHT which is similar to eMule‘s KAD network):

User /u/xrmb from Reddit has been scraping rarbg for the past 8 years and posted a sql database (use this for browsing/searching the file: https://sqlitebrowser.org/dl/), allegedly even searchable with IMDb id‘s. We’re talking about something like 2-3 million torrents:

https://old.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/c ... ?context=3
If anyone cares, I had a scraper running on their page for the last 8 years, it has almost all of their torrents, infohash and metadata in an 800mb sqlite database. Many torrents will keep working for a while.

Update: For people struggling to find seeds, here is a link with a tracker, there are many seeds.

Another user has also been posting txt files containing 3,4 million magnet links:

https://torrentfreak.com/rarbg-over-267 ... ne-230601/

User /u/xrmb is an absolute madlad, a True datahoarder. Dudes scraping half the internet lol, has already said he might backup rutracker as well:
